Indian Government action to fight Corona virus threat

International media is repeatedly questioning the preparation of India to fight COVID 19. In fact, some of them love to bash Indian government on health front. Some media reports speculate that India will be the second to China in terms of number of COVID 19 infection.

However, present situation indicates that western nations were less prepared than India. In spite of lesser population, low population density and advance medical facilities many western countries failed to check corona virus attack. These nations are located far away from China.

Till date, action of Indian Government is highly professional , humanitarian and effective. Indian government acted swiftly and rescued their citizens from China well in time.It managed these travellers very effectively. Role of ITBP in this whole excercise is highly praiseworthy.ITBP is managing Chawla quarantine facility and screening at airport in New Delhi.

Indian Government at New Delhi is keeping a close watch on the situation and a number of effective measures have been taken to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Health Ministry has directed AIIMS & JIPMER Pondicherry to prepare isolation wards for COVID 19 victims.

However, now the real threat will be increasing gradually. The spread of COVID to more than 90 nations and start of return of Indian workers from western countries and Gulf will be a real test of Indian preparedness.

On Sunday, Cabinet Secretary took the 16th review meeting. All the preparations to bring Indian citizens from Iran were elaborately discussed which are at an advance stage.

Since the disease has spread over more than 90 countries with over 1 lakh cases worldwide, the States/ UTs have been asked to enhance community surveillance as per the list of passengers provided to the States/UTs.
